Argument seperators

After restoring Office 97 on an old PC, the formulas
REQUIRE the pipe symbol as argument seperators, but all I
get is #Value. The formula will NOT let me insert commas.

I ran into this a few years back, but have forgotten how
to change the sererator type from pipe to comma.

Does anyone remember and can post a simple answer?
