Armadillo database

Hi,
A friend of mine asked me to repair a "broken" database he uses at work. I
can't even open / convert / repair / condense this file because it rolles
itself into a tight ball and shows the following message only:
"The Microsoft Jet database engine stopped the process because you and
another user are attempting to change the same data at the same time"
Needless to say, there is no other user.
Is there any way to overcome this hurdle?

Armadillo database, huh? <g>

It sounds like there is probably some underlying corruption. Go to the
support.microsoft.com and search for Jetcomp.exe. Download the utility and
use it to see if you can repair the database. If that fails you may need to
find a data repair service.

Hi Lynn,
Thank you for your prompt replay - unfortunately, Jetcomp also refuses to
work on this database file ...
