Arrow Keys Reversed in Word 2008

Previous post didn't attach to the specific thread I found:

"Am having the same problem. Have tried all suggested fixes.
Running
Word 2008 version 12.1.0. Cannot get my machine to take the 12.2.0
or
12.2.3 updates. Working on a Power PC G5 Mac. Also running it on my
MacBook - version 12.2.3. Not having the problem on that machine.
Any other suggestions?"

I once had this update issue (computer would not accept the updates).
The fix was to make sure you aren't running something in the background
(my sin was Macaroni) that removes any portion of the application. The
update has to be able to find everything, or it won't take. If you find
that something has been deleted, like languages you don't need or use,
as was my case), stop that from happening, then uninstall Word 2008 and
reinstall from your disk. Updates should now take.
