art borders around sections of text

Sue

I am trying to place an art border from the page border
option around 2 separate paragraphs. Is there a way of
setting up the page without having the art border appear
around the entire page and just around each paragraph?
Thanks for your help!

Hi, Sue,

No, Word can't do that. Did you notice in the Borders and Shading dialog
that switching from the Page Border tab to the Borders tab makes the Art
dropdown disappear? That's a hint...

The only way you can achieve that effect is to create the art border to the
correct size in a separate graphics program (Paint or similar) and save it
as a graphics file. Then insert it into Word as a floating picture, send it
Behind Text, and position it so it surrounds the paragraphs. If the text in
the paragraphs shrinks or grows with editing, you'll have to resize and
re-import the graphic.

Alternatively, you could use Publisher, which allows you to put BorderArt on
any text box. Or, if you just want to border logical pages on a physical
page, you can use the "2 pages per sheet" option in Page Setup, which allows
you to have two pages, with page borders, on each sheet.
