Asian layout again - but no Language Setting problems

O

Osbos

This seems to be a familiar problem, but I have the "Asian layout" menu item
under Format in Word 2002, plus the dreaded corner marks in my print layout.
I know that I am supposed to check under Office XP Language Settings in the
Microsoft Office Tools function, but unfortunately there are no Asian
languages on the list - just English, French and German.

Is there some option that I missed when reinstalling?

Thanks for any help!

I was having the same problem in Word 2003 (since collaborating on a Word
file with someone with a Korean version of Word). I found a link to
something that helped in another thread:
http://groups.google.com/group/micr...read/thread/a0836eb1c8ac425a/cc38d8ccab08d07f

Scroll down to the bottom of the page and check out Jay Freedman's response.
I followed the instructions (after making English the only language in my
Office 2003 Language Settings), and it got rid of the Asian language options
in the menus. Another option might be to try to install and then uninstall
Asian languages in the Office Language Settings and see if that resets the
values. I would have tried that first if I'd thought of it, since changing
all the registry values was a pain. After changing the registry values, I
actually installed and then uninstalled all the available languages, and that
left my registry values the same as when I'd changed them by hand.
