"Ask a Question" is in the way of resizing documents

Just today (after an overnight update)"ask a question" is in the upper
right corner of the document where we expected to see the three icons
that manage the size of the document - from minimize, restore down to
close. I learned how to get rid of the "ask a question" box in the
Customize tool, but the features I wanted were still gone. Only the
close "x" remained.

Is there a way to restore these document adjustment features? Or
should I run two copies of Word and resize them as if they were
documents?

Thanks!

True. But there used to be two sets. One for the program and one for
each document.

My boss wanted to use the document control level. I told her to just
use more than one copy of the program.

But I wish I could restore the older version for her.

Thanks!

I repeat, the controls you are looking for are on the title bar. Word 2000
and above open each document in a separate window. The controls for the
window are the controls for the document. Only when you close the last
document do you also close the application. If you have Word 2002 or above
and do not have "Windows in Taskbar" checked on the View tab of Tools |
Options, then the behavior is a little different.

Not from my level of knowledge (I was not sure what was different
between the title bar and what to call the next one down) but when I
did uncheck the "Window in taskbar" the three icons came back. So,
thanks very much. I am not sure I followed your message, but the
results were what I wanted.
