Can someone tell me how to stop this:

When my users have a contact open and they select "New Task for Contact" if that contact doesn't have an email address, Outlook hangs for about 5 minutes. If the contact has an email address, the Task opens right away with a link to the contact. (The link is there in both cases, but it hangs for a long time for contacts with no email address.)

This happens for all my users and myself. Can one of you gurus please check this out and tell me if the same thing happens to you and if it does, how do I force Outlook to not try and resolve email addresses for contacts when all I want to do is create a simple task with a link to the contact.
