ASP and IIS Web settings

Hi:

I'm new to a amateur programmer and have two questions about ASP and Web
site settings:

(1) ASP page: After publishing from a remote site to the local site (or vice
versa), some ASP pages with includes (i.e. <!--#include
virtual="/_private/logon.inc"-->) won't work and will show HTTP 500.100
error. I tried to modify the location but without any success.

I remember that I read some articles before about moving ASP pages but could
not remember how to do it and where were those articles. So could you
kindly point me to advise how to properly move ASP pages between different
locations (such as from my local testing environment with XP Pro IIS 5 to
the hosted environment with Win 2003 Server and IIS 6, all with FrontPage
Extensions).

(2) Web site settings: With IIS 5.1, FrontPage Server Extensions 2002, I
understand that there are three places for web site settings - IIS (MMC),
Server Extensions (MMC) and Microsoft SharePoint Administrator (HTML page).

I am confused about where should I go for settings such as security and so
on. I have been going back and forth to IIS and SharePoint Administrator
all the time and got lost all the time. Cannot find any useful information
from MS KB. So kindly advise which one to use as the primary settings.

(3) Directory Listing Denied: I use FP 2003 to publish testing webs from
other locations to "Inetpub/www" and they all show up on IIS and SP
Administration page.

Strange thing is when I clicked their URL links, most of them show up ok but
two will have "Directory Listing Denied, This Virtual Directory does not
allow contents to be listed." I used the same method and checked their
settings are the same. What seems to be wrong?

Thanks so much for your kind advise.
