asp date display transformations

Hi

Thanks to all for helping me out with my date sort questions last week....
Of course now that I have things running the way that I want I would like to
pretty them up.... So here is my question.

Dates are entered in the submission page in the form (for example)
9/17/1951

In the results page I would like the format to be: Mon Sep 17

I know you can transform access data with some functions but am not sure
where they go in frontpage.
