"Assign Myself To an Existing Task" not working in Project 2003 server

Has anyone seen this....

As a team member, I try to assign myself to an existing
task. However, the only tasks that show up are those I'm
already assigned to. When I log in as administrator, or
under other user groups I can see all tasks available to
be assigned.

Is there a setting I'm missing somewhere?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Ryan --

The default security settings in Project Server allow a team member to
delegate a task to other team members, but it does not allow a team members
to assign themselves to tasks to which they are not already assigned. That
is the specific responsibility of the project manager, and it is done in the
project plan in Microsoft Project. So, no, you are not missing a setting
somewhere. This is the way the tool is supposed to work. Hope this helps.
