assign numeral data with dates

In sheet 1 I have dates in Column A and alongside it in Column B ther
are numbers either 10 or 7.5

Is it possible to key in sheet 2, cell A2 the date eg. 20/3/04 and th
corresponding value appear in cell A3?

It's a roster based format with work hours

accordingly
