Assigning a macro to a jpeg

Instead of copying a shortcut to open a particular Excel file and putting it on the desktop, is there a way to put a jpeg, bitmap or other formatted artwork with a particular logo on the desktop and create a macro to open the specific Excel file?

Just insert the .jpg (Insert > Picture > From File ).........then
right-click on it and then either assign a macro or a Hyperlink to
it.........

The picture isn't in the workbook. It's used as the icon for the shortcut.

to the OP: If you put that shortcut on the desktop, you could change the icon.
Now all you need is that logo as an icon.

There are lots of icon editors out there (www.shareware.com), but I'm not sure
how your logo would look at that reduced size.

Dave, that is correct. The icon is on the desktop and not in the actual file. Actually what I am wanting to do, is change an Excel icon that is a shortcut to the particular file to a different jpeg or logo. I will look into the icon editors at that site

Thanks for your hel
