Assigning a macro

I have created an excel sheet to track attendance for my team and i have
told my team members to update their attance when they come into
office. However i do not want to give them the option of editing their
attendance status for the previous day except for the current day.
Request you to please guide me step by step on how to create a macro so
that the previous days data becomes non-editable.
