Assigning a task to different resources over time

I'm trying to determine how to change resources on a given task. Often, I
have to plan to hand off a design task from one engineer to another due to
skill sets and priorities.

How can this be done within one task so that I have an accurate resource
loading picture of "who's working on what"?

Hi Dale,
This can be done from the Task Usage View.
Go to View/Task Usage...
What shows up is the tasks with resources listed below the task; assign both
resources to the task.

In the right pane, you can adjust the hours so that you have Skill1 working
for the begining portion of the task and Skill2 finishing up (or whatever you
need). The scale can be adjusted on the right pane; right click on the top
of the time line and then select timescale.
