Assigning Project Manager

hi,

Im new to Project Professional! - and I wanted to assign a
project manager to one of the projects. Ive already set up
user accounts in PWA. Could someone tell me how to assign
specific PM to a project?

Hi Diane,

One way I think you can do this is by performing the following steps in PWA:

1. Click "Projects" to enter the Projects Center view
2. Select the project you want to assign the PM to - select a cell other
than the project name or else the project will expand out.
3. Click the "Edit" button
4. Change the "Owner" value to the PM's name.

If you don't see owner there as something you can edit - you may need to add
the field to the PWA view. If you need help with this, let me know.

Diane and Amada --

Beyond this first initial step (which sets the Owner of the project but not
its Manager), the new PM will need to do the following to actuall become the
Manager of the project:

1. Open the project in question
2. Click Collaborate - Publish - Republish Assignments
3. Select the "Become the manager for these assignments" option
4. Click OK

Doing so will cause Project Server to redirect all task updates from team
members to the new PM. Hope this helps.
