I think we are misunderstanding each other. By sound and action do you
mean animation (i.e., line 1 flies in from the left with a buzzing sound,
line 2 flies twirls and appears with a gong sound, line 3 comes in letter
by letter with a typewriter sound, etc.)? If that is what you meant, then
ignore my earlier answer. My earlier answer would allow you to click on a
line of text and have a sound play and have an action happen, such as
jumping to another slide.
For the animation thing (which is what I now think you mean), it depends
heavily on what version of PowerPoint you are using. PowerPoint 2002 and
2003 do this much differently from earlier versions. For 2002 and 2003,
you can click on your text box, and choose Custom Animation from the
Slide Show menu. Choose Add Effect and Entrance Effect. Pick any effect.
You should see an animation listed in the box in the lower right portion
of the screen. Click on the arrows below the animation to expand the
animation. Now you should see an animation for each line of text. Now up
at the top left, where it used to say Add Effect, it should say Change.
click on any of the listed animations and choose change to change the
entrance effect. Use the down arrow next to any animation to adjust other
things, such as adding a sound.
