Assigning Tasks to Users from an Imported Project?

Hello,

Attempting to import an existing project created in MS Project 2007. I have
set full permissions for all resources to My Tasks in MSPS and used
Enterprise resources in the project. There are 3 individual users who are
part of an AD group (one of them is me), a stand alone user who is not part
of my AD group, and one additional AD group, of which I am not a member. All
are assigned to the project as enterprise users.

When I import the project, all of the tasks for users in my AD group are
assigned to me. (I should have 4 tasks, I have 11, 7 of which show up in my
tasks, but do not have me as a resource name).

I can reassign my tasks to others in my AD group and they show up fine. I
can reassign tasks outside of my group and they are assigned. I am project
manager and owner and admin and I cannot reassign tasks not assigned to me or
assign other users tasks to myself.

Ideas? Please?!

Your Project Server administrator missed a HUGE but non-obvious critical
step in setting up Project Server 2007. He/she must specify the Default
Assignment Owner value for every resource in your Enterprise Resource Pool.
For each resource, he/she must set the Default Assignment Owner field value
to the name of the selected resource. For example, the Default Assignment
Owner value for Mickey Cobb is Mickey Cobb. The system uses the value in
this field to determine whose PWA Timesheet gets the tasks when a PM
publishes a project. He/she will need to do this editing in the Resource
Center page as the system will not allow him/her to specify this value by
opening the Enterprise Resource Pool in Project Professional 2007.

Also, to force the current project to work correctly, you MUST insert the
Assignment Owner field in the Task Usage view and specify a value for each
resource. Hope this helps.
