Hi all,

I have a problem with Assignment data in MS Project 2003 and Project Server
2003 Database:
I use MSP 2003 connect to Project Server 2003. In my msproject file, I have
a task with 2hrs actual. I published this task to server, and I check data
on server (through project server web access) OK. But I actual hours of this
task is not exist in MSP_VIEW_PROJ_ASSN_TP_BY_DAY, so I can't use data in
this table.

How to force MS Project update timephased data in database. I checked
"Expand timephased data in the database" option in MSP.

Thanks

The only way to update the _VIEW_ tables is to publish from project. As your
data hasn't come thru, the publish process may have failed. Look for error
messages on the server.

Hi,

Where can I see MS Project Server log for those errors?

Thanks

Hi,

Default location of View drop folder is \Program Files\Microsoft
Office Project Server 2003\BIN\ViewDrop

You can find XML files here. Publish action will generate XML file for
each project. These XML files will get processed in a queue fashion
and update the Project Server view tables.

Thanks

Microsoft
document(http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/projservadmin/HA011642961033.aspx)
say that:
\BIN\ViewDrop

The ViewDrop folder is where all projects that are published to the Project
Server database from Project Professional are placed as XML files to queue
to the Project Server view tables. Files are sent to this folder when the
following actions are performed from Project Professional when it is
connected to the computer running Project Server 2003:

A user selects any Publish action from the Collaborate menu.
A user selects Close from the File menu.

But when I saved project, no xml file exists in ViewDrop folder. How to
solve this problem?
