assignments in Project View but not Task or Resource View???

Hi,
I've just 'imported' a number of projects, and each time have ensured that
the resource in my project is mapped against the correct enterprise resource.

However, when the resource logs in ( as a Project Manager ) they can see the
Projects, and within that tasks assigned to them, however the same tasks are
not shown in either the Task or Resource view.

The filters are all set for ALL, and all the tasks are current anyway.

The only thing is some of the tasks are on 5% of time - is this too small to
show ?

After you import a project using the Import Projects wizard, you must
republish the assignments using the following steps:

1. Click Collaborate - Publish - Republish Assignments
2. Select the "Overwrite actual work entered by resources" option
3. Click OK

The task assignments for that project will now show up on each team member's
View My Tasks page in PWA. Hope this helps.

Hi Dave,

We have the same problem but we couldn't find the "repubish assignment"
option under "Collaborate" in Project Pro 2007. We did a public from the
"File" menu instead but it didn't help.

Could you be able to help us? Thanks in advance!

My name is Dale, not Dave, but that's not really important. Did you use the
Import Projects Wizard to bring the project into the Project Server 2007
system? Did you map resources in the project with enterprise resources in
the Enterprise Resource Pool? Your project must contain enterprise
resources before the publishing action puts assignments on the My Tasks page
for your resources. Open the project, and click View - Resource Sheet. You
should NOT see Local Resource indicators to left of any resources assigned
to tasks in your project UNLESS you manually typed the names, indicating
temporary resources, such as contractors or consultants. Let us know the
answers to these questions and we will try to help.

Dale,

I'm very sorry. That day I worked on Project Server all day long and I was a
bit exasted.

Thank you very much for your quick reply. I imported my project again and
double checked every item that you said, but at that time the problem was
still there. The good thing is that you pointed me to the right direction. I
did more experienments after and eventually figured out the problem: Before I
do the import, I changed everyone's Default Assignment Owner to the project
manager (don't know why I had the misunderstanding at first). In order to
show up the assignments in My Tasks, the user has to be an Assignment Owner.

I didn't think I could get a reply in such a short time. Thanks again.

The problem was not a failure on your part in any way. The failure belongs
to your Project Server administrator, who failed to configure Project Server
2007 correctly. For every resource in the Enterprise Resource Pool, your
Project Server administrator needs to specify two VERY important values:

Default Assignment Owner
Timesheet Manager

The Default Assignment Owner field determines on whose My Tasks page Project
Server 2007 places task assignments assigned to each resource. In theory,
each resource should be his/her own Default Assignment Owner. The Timesheet
Manager determines who approves Timesheets for each resource. To specify
these two values, your Project Server administrator must use the Resource
Center page in PWA and must edit each resource individually. He/she cannot
do this in the Enterprise Resource Pool. So, please show this to your admin
and tell him/her to make these changes immediately! :)

Hope this helps.
