Assumption regarding Activities in MSPS 2007

I'm thinking about using an Activity just as a placeholder for booking
actual time against an operational activity (yes, I'm talking about
this subject again. No detailed tasks or assignments created for the
activity - just building a team so that the activity shows up in the
timesheet picklist.

Once that's done and resources begin booking actual time against that
timesheet line item, I assume there will be no on-going need to
"republish" since there are no detailed tasks and the data entered is
readily available in the Reporting database (e.g., timesheet views).

Is this right or are there other implications?

Thanks,

Hi Andy,

it depends which information you wish to report against. Yes you are right
if your resources enter and submit the timesheet, you will be able to report
against it.

If you want to report against the activity, then you will need to republish
the activity, after accepting the time within task update.

I hope this makes sense
