When we attach an item to a task / Appointment, will the short cut attached
or will the whole item gets attached?

This is important because to know
1. the memory occupied
2. the implications after moving the original item or deleting it.

Insert Item inserts a COPY of the item. So inserting a Contact (as an
Item) does not take the Contact out of my Contacts folder, or an email from
my Inbox.

Insert File, inserts a whole file.

Insert file as a Hyperlink inserts a hyperlink to the file location.

I hope that helps!!

Many Thanks Judy for clarifications. But I want to know now How to insert an
item as Hyperlink? I am not able to see any such option in Outlook 2003.

In a Task, you insert a Hyperlink this way:

Insert | select the file (do not dble click it), use the tiny drop down
arrow beside the word "Insert" in the bottom right corner, select Hyperlink.

In an Email, a Hyperlink will only work if you use Rich Text Format.
