Attaching an Excel File to an Email

When I click on the email icon in the Excel toolbar to attach to the email I
get the file imbedded in the body of the email. I want to have the file sent
as an attachment. Where do I go to tell Excel to attach the file rather than
imbed it?

What is the difference. Does it matter? Ive never been able to figure this
out and just stopped worrying. The file still gets to the recipient.
