Attaching journal entries.

I am trying to learn how to use Outlook. When I try to add a journal entry
for a contact, I highlight the contact I want to make the entry for and then
go to New Journal Entry.

After savaing a closing the entry, I go to the contact to check the entry.
When I go to the activities screen there are no journal entries.

What am I not doing that will attach the journal entry to that contact?
