The folder ~/Library/Caches/Metadata/Microsoft/Entourage/2008/MainIdentity/Attachments seems to contain a copy of every attachment to every message in my Database. But aren't the attachments also IN the Database? Can I purge this cache and not do any harm? And save some space?!
Thanks a lot

The attachments cache is a new feature in Entourage 2008. Its purpose is
to allow for Spotlight searching within attachments to messages. Without
it your Spotlight results will only contain results from the text of the
messages themselves.

You can disable this feature in Entourage menu --> Preferences... -->
General Preferences --> Spotlight.

Hope this helps!
