Attachment forwarded to recipient, but doesn't show in sent email

I originally sent an email with an attachment to an individual a few weeks back. The attachment displayed as such in the original email in my sent folder. I needed to contact this individual this week, so I forwarded an email from the original and copied the email address into the proper field. I called her today to discuss this email, and she informed me that the original attachment was present in the forwarded email as well as the first transmission. I checked my sent folder for the forward, but do not see any attachment noted on the second email. How can this be, that she sees the second attachment but I don't?

My preference is to not send an attachment on a forward automatically unless I specifically choose so. I prefer to save the bandwidth!
