Attachment lost for outlook express users

Since I installed service pack 2 outlook express users no longer receive
attachments I sent via outlook XP SP3 -
they either do not see the paper clip (no attachment)for excel attachments
or they see the attachment as winmail.dat format for Word attachments. Other
Outlook users do not have this issue with my attachments and receive the
attachments without a problem. Can anybody help with this urgent problem?

You're sending in Rich text format and Outlook Express can't handle that
format. It never has been able to.
