Attachments Arriving

Hi,
Recently, almost every email I receive in Outlook is
accompanied by an attachment of the same email in plain
text. The format of the email itself is also plain text.
Since I doubt everyone has suddenly started to do this, I
am wondering if its one of my settings.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance
Vandervecken

If you have had Outlook open a really long time (days or weeks), it can
display this behavior. Shut it down (you may need to reboot your computer)
and reopen Outlook and new mail will not have this problem.

Thanks for the links. Unfortunately they aren't quite my
problem.
The attachments are text files entitled <subject>.txt,
where <subject> is the full subject line of the email.
Re:

if that is any help.
Also, I am running Outlook 2002, not 98

Thanks in advance
Michael

Unfortunately, this has not helped me.

By the way, it doesn't happen when I email myself.
Thanks in advance

Have you tried rebooting Windows?

The exact contents of the body of the email, in plain text

I personally don't see how that can be happening on the receiving end.
Either the senders are doing it or your ISP is doing it, in my opinion.

I am having the same issue. It is only happening with a certain number of PCs that don't share a common trait. The emails come in and are sent with a .txt attachment that contains the body of the email in plain text. They have been rebooted many times, but the issue keeps coming back. Is there any known bug/fix for this?

There are LOTS of people who have this problem (my users included) but Microsoft doesn't seem to have any answers for the problem! I have read post after frustrating post about users having this problem and the only suggestion they get is to reboot. They do so and the issue DOES NOT go away!

It's true that a majority of MS problems are solved by rebooting, but not all. My users who have this problem shut down their PC's every night, and the issue starts back up the second they boot the PC and check their email.

MS really needs to find a solution for the numerous people experiencing the problem. Anyone have any better ideas than rebooting?
