attachments -- NOT read only

In Outlook 2003 --- it appears of the attachements files
sent in emails in excel/ wordperfect come in as read only
i like the old way -- not read only --- where can one
can / delete the read only option on attachements???

Just save the file to your local machine and start from there...

Is there any other way then to save the file, like a setting in
outlook or a registry setting.
