if anyone can shed any light on this problem it would be
much appreciated.
We have a laptop attached to the web by a (basic) server
(pc + switch etc).

when emails are sent with attachments either the
attachment just disappears or it arrives as a .dat file.

We have checked for viruses etc, looked in the security
file(s) looked in the group policy objects and cannot see
anything untoward,

just to confuse matters more, if we send an email with
attachment to another PC attached to the server it goes
through fine..? and no-one else is experiencing any
problems.
help please.
thanks

Don't use Rich Text as your message format. That is an Outlook-specific
format that other mail progrms cannot read.
