Hello,
I started having trouble today when every e-mail that came in had a .txt
attachment that was the body of the note I was receiving. The name of the
file was whatever the subject of the note was with a .txt extension. I
received notes from over 7 different sources and it happend to all of them. I
called my e-mail provider and they had never seen anyhting like that and said
it was not their end. Any ideas?? The help is truly appreciated.

Bill,

I don't have any solutions, but I thought I'd chime in because I've had the
same problem since 2004/12/15. I have five POP3 accounts, coming through
different SMTP servers, and this happens with messages received from any of
them. It ONLY happens if the message is in PLAIN TEXT format (HTML and RTF
messages are not affected), so it seems likely that it's caused by something
running on the receiving computer.

What anti-virus software do you use? I'm running Norton AntiVirus V10.0.13.3
with automatic updates.

As of 2004/12/19, whatever was causing Plain Text formatted messages to be
received with an attached .TXT file (containing the text of the message)
appears to have been corrected. At least, I'm now receiving messages WITHOUT
the attached file.

Has anybody else who had this problem seen a similar "fix?"

Mike,
Sorry for the delay in getting back, I was having trouble navigating around
here. I too use plain text and use NAV2005 Ver 11.0.1.3. Today I received
some with and some without attachments so I'm having an even harder time
trying to figure it out!

Just had another thought. It looks like it happened to us on the same day. I
wonder if it had anything to do with the 3 or 4 security updates that came
out around then??
