Hi!

Depends on how and where you want to draw it. A bit more detail woul
help.

Do you want to change an existing line to dashed?

Do you want to superimpose a line on a chart?

Will it be a straight line?

If so, do you know its end-point coordinates?

And anything else which helps to define your start point and wished-fo
end point.

It's a trick question. Try it. Take any line chart with a generated
series line, then right click on it and format it as white & dashed.
See what you get. Not what you're expecting. Lines drawn onto charts
work fine.

Alternative for a quick fit:
View|Toolbars- click on Drawing
Click on chart so that the sizing handles show
Click the Line tool on Drawing Toolbar and make the line on the chart
Right click you new line, select Format AUtoshape and make the line white
using the color box

Thanks Tushar, my question, while not stated exactly correct is a
trick one. If you create a line chart, then select any series and
right click to format as white and dashed, Excel only does half the
job. Don't know if it's fixed in 2003, but it didn't work in the last
several releases.

yes, right click on any series and try formatting as white & dashed
