I have almost come to the end of the design & prototyping process for an
InfoPath form. However I am unable to successfully ‘Submit’ the form.
The project is now behind schedule as I have spent a number of days trying
to resolve this particular issue.
Using :
-Windows Vista Ultimate, fully updated.
-Access 2007 (database is .mdb)
-InfoPath 2007
On investigation it appears that there is some phenomenon in InfoPath
regarding the 28th field (in this case) on the Access database which is used
as the main data source. This ‘:c28’ field appears in the InfoPath Main data
source display. i.e ‘:c28’ has replaced the original Access field name
(‘Lead-Spare-Field’).
After saving form & submitting after entering data in ‘preview’ mode the
following error is displayed :
Attribute 'Lead-Spare-Field' is not allowed on element
'{http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/infopath/2003/ado/dataFields}IC-Enquiry-Data', according to Schema.
-Note: ‘Lead-Spare-Field’ has not been used in the form.
I have also tried the following:
-Deleting the Access Database field ‘Lead-Spare-Field’ & re connecting the
database to the form. In this case the ‘c:28’ replaces the next field now
‘Lead-Name-First’. Same problem.
-Renaming the field or adding several dummy fields to the access database.
In this case the problem still remains with the 28th field, whatever the
field name happens to be.
-De-selecting the ‘Lead-Spare-Field’ on connecting to the database.
-Copying & creating another version of the Access database.
-This problem did not manifest itself in the early stages of development &
prototyping
