audio clips cut short in PowerPoint 2002 on XP?

Rich

Im currently trying to update a series of presentations to work on XP using
PowerPoint 2002 (originally created in PP2000 on Win2k), however the audio
clips very rarely finish playing and are often cut short by upto 2-3
seconds.

The audio clips themselves are not clipped (play fine in media player) and
are simple mono uncompressed 44Khz .wav files. They playback correctly if
there is nothing else on the slide, but if there is any animation during the
playback, clipping occurs.

Does anyone have any ideas what might be causing this? / anyone else having
similar troubles?

Thanks,

Rich

Check your slide transition timings. They may need to be adjusted to drag
the slide out a bit. Presentations never run at the same pace from one
system to the other, making synchronization of slides and music very
difficult. It takes a lot of patience and trial and error. Be forewarned
though that what works on your system, most likely will fall apart if you
plan to move the presentation to another system due to differences in
processor speed, available memory, disk speed, etc.
