Audio clips--Need Suggestions

I want to put 2 minute audio clips on my web site. They
need to be taken from CD's I've recorded at performances
of local musicians. I then need to slect two minute
segments of each to post on my web site.
I need suggestions as to what program is easiest to use
for editing or recording these two minute clips.
I investigated Media Player 9 but there doesn't seem to
be a function for this although I will have a download
link for Media Player 9 on the site for poeple to use to
lsiten to the clips.

Any help anyone can give would be greatly appreciated.
