Audio Files

I wonder if anyone might help with this audio problem. I am using
Power Point from Windows Office 2000. I imbed compressed wave audio
files. When I Email the show some of the people say they are unable to
get the audio to play. Others have no problem. I have sent the
compressed audio file seperate to those who can't get it to play with
PowerPoint and they say the audio plays fine sent seperate. This sort
of tells me the compressed format is not the problem. Could it be the
type OS the user has? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

When the folks that you send just the audio file to say it plays, are they
talking about in Windows Media Player or the MCI player? (My guess is they
are talking about the Windows Media Player which has little or nothing to do
with PowerPoint.)

If I were to guess, you are using an audio codec they do not have installed
or available to the MCI player on their machine. When you build the MP3 you
should use the Fruenhoffer codec for compatibility reasons. Actually, you
are much better off converting it to a WMA format. (PFCMedia will do that
automatically for you when you insert the file into the presentation or you
can use multiple apps out there to do the conversion before inserting it.
What ever you are comfortable with.)
