Audio stop playing when I navigate

PowerPoint 2003. In a recorded speeh in MP3 and I´m trying to sync it with
the right slide. I use the same file throughout the hole sequence, with
different start points. I have added forward and backward buttons so it will
be possible to "play fast forward" the speech. So far so good, but when I
click on the backward button the audio stop play. Does anyone have any ideas
how to solve this? It feels like there are some settings I´ve missed.

How did you add the fast forward and back buttons? My guess is that you need
a "rewind" button as opposed to a back button. The back button probably
takes you back to the beginning, which would be a stopped position.

Hi, thanks for answering. I´m using a ordinary button with the action
"previous slide" (In English I think. I´m using a Swedish version). Let´s say
I have a PPT with 7 slides. The speaker-file (.MP3) starts on the first slide
and ends after 1 slide. After 20 sec comes slide nr 2 and the startpoint for
the same MP3.file in that slide is set to "start from 20 sec". Everything
works perfect throughout the presentation. When I use my step forward
buttons, it´s still OK, but when I press the Back button the previous slide
is shown but the MP3-file don´t start. If I then press the forward button the
MP3-file starts again, but only on pictures that haven´t been shown before.
I have tried all kinds of different settings, but nothing helps. What to do?
Any suggestions?

When PPT links back to a slide, it comes in at the *end* of the slide. You
need it to come in at the beginning of the slide.

So you have to set the link to the slide before the one you really want.
What we usually suggest here is to create a dummy slide with a 00-second
automatic transition and link to that. Then when you click the button to go
back, you'll go to the dummy slide, which will automatically transition into
the beginning of the slide you really want. And that will allow the audio
file to play again.

The dummy slide can be a copy of the real slide, and then nobody will know
the difference.
