audio/video files don't play anymore

Timo

I got a little problem with Powerpoint and inserted audio
& video files.
If the path pointing to those files has more than 128
characters, the files won't play.
I tried to locate the reason for this.
I installed fresh WinXP and Powerpoint, both audio and
video files are playing without problems.
After installing service pack 1a and audio/video won't
play.
If I cut the path below 128 characters, the files will
play again.
Anyone knows why and/or how to solve this?

Hi Timo. Good detective work! This has been reported before. It's
apparently a bug in PowerPoint (or perhaps Windows OLE beneath it?) but
there's not much we users can do about it.

Except to keep our paths short, of course.
