With, e.g., Word, it is possible to examine the macros in a Word template
and thenn close the template without any changes being saved to the
template.
A few months ago, I tried an AV product that scans within PST files.
Last time I did such a scan, the size of each PST file was changed by
several KB.
Is there a way to examine a PST file without causing the size of the PST
file to change?
I am currently running a scan with an updated version of the AV to see if
the behavior persists.
One idea is that if the PST had been created in an earlier version of
Outlook thn the version of Outlook installed in the OS in which, the AV is
running, then perhaps, the file size has to change?
Bu that would not be good as it might result from changing the version of
Outlook in which the PST is saved.
Especially troublesome on a multiboot system witha different Office in each
OS.
