Author login box problem

Hi All,
Every time I try to publish my web to my new host it refuses to accept my
username & password, which my host assures me is correct, they have
reinstalled FP extensions a number of times and the nearest we have got to
publishing is for FP to start and then come up with "server error: cannot
create folder "_borders.
Can anyone please help
Thanks in advance

It could be that they have created the account correctly for you, added the
FP Server Extensions, and botched the actual permissions for the account. It
really does sound like a permissions error because _borders would be one of
the first directories it would try to write and if it can't then it could be
because the OS is denying write permissions for the username. A big problem
with a lot of hosts is when you have a problem they test publishing with
their own administrative accounts, or they test publishing using your
account but from their internal network (which doesn't take into account
issues that may occur from publishing outside their network). Another thing
you can try is look for a proxy server between you and your host that may be
messing things up so you can enter the correct proxy info (if needed) into
FP.

Hope this helps,

Hi Mark,
Many thanks for your help, you are quite correct as they have now changed
all of the permissions and I have uploaded successfully,
My only problem now is that I have chosen a DSN name for my database that is
already reserved on thier server.
I would like not to have to alter every one of my 45 ASP pages code to take
the new name, they suggest making an "include " file but my knowledge does
not stretch to this.
Is there someewhere I can find out how to do this.
Thanks again
