auto advance running to fast

My ppt work great last week. Each slide advanced to the second with the
background music. Now the slides are advancing too fast. Example: a slide 1
should advance after 10 seconds, now advances to slide 2 after 3 seconds.

Is it the same computer?

have you changed anything - animations maybe? slide transition timings are
calculated AFTER animations, etc have finished so a difference in animation
time, video length etc will effect them.

I'm using 2003 PowerPoint. The presentation works ok on my laptop, but when
played on my desktop the slides are advancing faster than they should.
Nothing was changed with the animations. Each slide has a different time for
transition. It worked great last week. The music was in sync with the
transitions. NOW the slides advance too fast. Ex. Slide 2 is set to advance
after 11 seconds, but it now advancing after 3 seconds. I have reinstalled
PowerPoint, but that did not solve the problem. Can you please give any
advice.

Richard when you say "slide 2 is set to advance after 11 seconds" do you mean
you have entered 11 secs in the advance after box or you have put in a figure
that makes it advance after a timed 11 seconds.
