auto-compact utility

It seems it is a manual operation.

is it possible to set it start automatically or by schedule.

if not, i am misled by the name of the utility.

I think there is some level of automatic compaction but the only way to best
compact is to do it manually. It's part of general Outlook housekeeping.

Microsoft's KB article 296192 lists the command-line switches available
for Outlook 2002. There is no switch to let you perform a command-line
initiated compact of the .pst message store files. Either you let
Outlook perform an automatic compact in the background under the
threshold conditions listed in the other KB article that I mentioned, or
you use the menus in Outlook to perform a manual compaction (Outlook's
own help will tell you how to perform a manual compaction).
