Auto expanding cells which are merged

I have a spreadsheet which has merged cells. I would
like these cells to automatically expand to fit the text
entered, is this possible with merged cells? Any help
would be appreciated in this (hopefully) simple matter.

Merged cells don't adjust rowheight for wrapped text (like non-merged cells do).
