auto fill fields on form

I have two fields on a form (firstname and lastname)
the firstname is selected via a lookup list.
I need the lastname to be automatically filled accordingly.

This is not exactly what I need.
I have two field. one indeed shows the firstname after selecting it work the
combo box.
I need the second seperate field to show the lastname.
