auto filter

I am new to auto filter function and would like to use it to create an expense report with each line item carrying its own set of formula.

not sure 'Autofilter' is what you're looking for. You may provide some
more details what you're trying to achive (e.g. give an example in
plain text)

To access AutoFilter.........select a cell in your database ......then do
Data > Filter > AutoFilter............but like Frank says, it may not do
what you're after........
