auto save on excel

Falena

I am using Windows XP home addition with Microsoft Excel
2000 and would like to know where to check to see if my
files are automatically saved and if so, how to recover
them. I checked under tools then options but I don't
have
a "save" tab to check to see if it's automatically saving
the docs. Is there somewhere else I should look? Thanks!

Hi Falena,
Do you have the updates on. Excel 2000 was distributed with
defective AutoSave.

Tools, addins, [x] autosave add-in

Tools, autosave, ...do your thing with the options...

In addition to David's correct answer, you can save a backup of the file each
time you save manually.

File>Save As>Tools "always create a backup".

The backup *.XLK file will always be one save behind the current save.

NOTE: this is not the same as the Autosave at timed increments.
