Auto-select "relative to slide" when only one object selected

When only one oject in Powerpoint is selected ( e.g., Excel table) to be
centered on the slide, I use the Drawing toolbar at the bottom of the screen
to set the alignment by clicking on "Draw", then on "Align or Distribute". I
then need to select "Relative to slide" so that the centering option relative
to slide is not grayed out. I then need to go back through that menu process
to actually select my centering option. I would think that with only one
object selected Powerpoint should know that I am not seeking to set alignment
relative to other objects, but rather relative to the slide, and should
automatically make the "Relative to slide" options available. Thank you.
