auto-size in org chart

I'm trying to make up an Organizational Chart using WORD 2002, but I'm
having a problem with the text boxes.
I want the size of the box to expand, but Word automatically wraps the text
and the option to switch that behavior is grayed out.

In order to edit the text boxes directly, you have to turn off Auto Layout.
