I have a user with Off 03 on Win XP pro that has an auto-correct file she
would like to share with another user with Office XP on Win 2K. Is it just
the acl file I copy over and it just simply works? Or is there something
more to it?

AutoCorrect entries are stored in two places (or more if several languages
are involved): Formatted entries are stored in the Normal.dot template, and
unformatted entries are in .acl files, one for each language.

You can ignore all that complexity by downloading the AutoCorrect.zip file
from http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customization/ExportAutocorrect.htm to
both computers. Use the wizard in the AutoCorrect.dot template it contains
to export the entries from one computer into a document, and to import that
document into the other computer.

first, thanks for replying quickly! Second, that utility is fully compatible
with the different versions of Office (since I'm actually going backwards
with the acl)?
