Autofill questions

When I try to use auto fill from an existing row that has various cell
formats, it does not complete the fill with the existing formats. So
the outcome is different than what I started with. Like I have 4
columns, one is a number format, one is date, one is currency etc.
When I go to pull info with the black plus sign it does not copy the
exisiting formats and the numbers are completely different than what I
want them to be or what they are in above rows. I hope this makes
sense. Any ideas how to force the formats to stay and not change?

I thought I once read something about cutting and pasting something to
fool the formatting. Does that ring a bell?

I've never seen xl do this.

You may want to post more details. What's in the cells, what's the format and
how you're doing it--via a menu, macro, or dragging.

The way I remedied this was to delete about 1000 rows that were
underneath the rows with data in them. That worked by elimnating the
cruddy formats that were apparently there. I pulled down the series
data and it mainrained the format it was supposed to. Cool!
