Hi
I am using an Excel 2000 spreadsheet in which I want to
use an auto filter to analyze the data on the sheet. The
sheet is populated from a database extract which I have no
control over.
Some all of the records on the sheet start with a leading
space (e.g. ' United Kingdom') which shouldn't cause any
problems when filtering. However, some of the records have
fields which start with a space then one on the Excel
wildcard characters (e.g. cell would contain ' *United
Kingdom'). When I try to filter on these records the rows
I am trying to select are not displayed.
Does anyone know if this behaviour is by design or of any
suitable workrounds? (can't do find-replace because the
characters are wildcards so everything gets replaced)
Many thanks in advance
